Glad to see this thread still doing a good job. I´ll have a look as soon as the attachment was validated… Oh - and if I look in add/remove programs, there’s nothing in there that looks anything remotely related to a Roxio or Adaptec or DirectCD product to uninstall. I understand that Roxio has licenced their basic CD software into WindowsXP, which could be some part of this conflict/problem. Also, the support also assumes that you have one of their products - BUT I DON’T HAVE ONE OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Their support system is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard - it’s one of those ones where all questions posted to the technical support forum go unanswered, and no support telephone numbers are given. If I click on the box, then I’m directed to Roxio’s web site. My question is of course - how do I get rid of this? My PC works fine, but I’m starting to get v. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. ‘DirectCD’ will cause Windows to become unstable. I forget the exact sequence of events, but basically it said that in order to read this CD I would have to download/install some software - do I wish to continue Y/N? I said ‘Y’, and everthing seemed fine.īut now, whenever I restart my pc, I always get this very annoying message appearing in the bottom right hand corner of my PC (see attached gif): HOWEVER, a few months ago I stuck an Adaptec CD-RW in my drive to see what was stored on it. I do not have, and never have installed Roxio Easy CD creator on my machine.
